چکیده

Emboli of foreign bodies to the heart, although unusual, have been reported with increasing frequency since 1834 when Davis published the first case report of a bullet embolus. Although bullets are one of the more common foreign body emboli to the heart and beyond, a cardiac ballistic embolus is a very rare situation. In the literature very fewreports were found, so far this is a unique case, because the patient had a very dangerous lesion which is the vena cava wound associated with a cardiac embolus causing tricuspid valve insufficiency.

Traumatic Tricuspid Insufficiency Requiring Valve Repair in an Acute Setting.

Tricuspid insufficiency due to penetrating cardiac trauma is rare. Patients with tricuspid insufficiency due to trauma can tolerate this abnormality for months or even years. We report a case of a 66-year-old female with penetrating cardiac trauma on the right side of her heart that required tricuspid valve repair in an acute setting. She sustained cut and stab wounds on her bilateral forearms ...

An Unusual Case of Tricuspid Regurgitation.

A 74-year old woman was presented with dyspnoea (New York Heart Association Class III) developing over 1-week. She had inferior vena cava (IVC) inserted 6 weeks prior for proximal iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis. On chest x-ray/echocardiography this had embolized to the right ventricle (Fig. 1). The patient had severe tricuspid regurgitation as septal leaflet chordae were torn. She underwent r...

Unusual eustachian valve function.

The eustachian valve directs oxygen-rich blood from the inferior vena cava toward the foramen ovale and away from the tricuspid valve during fetal development. Ordinarily, it does not prevent reflux of right atrial blood back into the inferior vena cava because it does not function as a true valve. Here we describe an unusual adult patient with severe tricuspid valve regurgitation in whom the e...

Complex Ebstein's Anomaly in an 86-Year-Old Iranian Man: A Case Report

Ebstein's anomaly is defined as the significant apical displacement of the tricuspid valve causing tricuspid regurgitation. Although a variety of concomitant lesions have been previously described, we herein introduce an unusual presentation. Our patient was an 86-year-old man with a primary presentation of typical chest pain in the setting of recently diagnosed coronary artery disease with con...

Severe tricuspid regurgitation due to valvular entrapment of an inferior vena cava stent

Endovascular venous stenting is increasingly performed for a variety of conditions. Inferior vena cava stent migration has been reported up to 6 months after placement; stent migration 6 months after implantation is uncommon. To our knowledge, this is only the second reported case of late stent migration with valve entrapment 1.
